This year Outdoor Dimensions-Scotland
will be using various places around Scotland or Keswick in The Lake District, as our base for the
climbing and scrambling courses. In The Lake District we have numerous valley crags or bigger
cliffs such as The Napes, Gimmer or Dow Crag. Most of our
courses in Scotland are based around the Glencoe and Ben Nevis
areas. All technical
equipment is provided although clients are encouraged to use their
own if found suitable by the instructor. |

Introduction To Rock Climbing - Keswick, The Lake District
On this course we will cover climbing
techniques, rope handling skills, abseiling, anchor placement,
equipment selection, guide book use, single and multi pitch climbing. We may spend one day at an indoor climbing wall
working on individual climbing techniques and possible lead
climbing.
5 days price £400
The price is for the course only, we
often find that people wish to organise their own accommodation on
this type of course.

Introduction to Lead Climbing - Keswick, The Lake District
This course is designed for people who wish to start leading their own climbs. Subjects covered include - ropework, multiple belays, stance organisation, runner placement,
equipment selection, abseil retreat, guide book use and lots of
climbing. |

Rock Scrambling Courses
This falls in-between walking and
climbing where the use of the hands are normally required to aid
upward progress. The rope may be used on some of the scrambles
depending upon the clients ability. No previous scrambling or
rope work experience is required as tuition will be given when
necessary but a good head for heights is obviously needed. All
the technical equipment is provided. Private or group instruction / guiding
is also available, please phone with your own dates.
On these courses most of our clients
tend to organise their own accommodation whether it be youth hostel,
B and B or hotels. |
Rock Scrambling In The Lake District
Pinnacle Ridge on St Sunday Crag, Slab and Notch on Pillar and Cam Crag Ridge in Borrowdale are just a few of the excellent scrambles climbed on previous courses.
